My new obsession - Essential Oils!
Since Youngevity, my parent company, has an essential oils line, and I have always been a bit curious about them, I decided to start studying oils and order some and try them out. Well, let me say, our family cannot live without them now.
I am certainly not an expert, but I have done quite a bit of research on oils in general, and our oils specifically. Here is some more info:
Here are the "Top 10 Essential Oils":
In the Wright household, we use Lavender every day. I rub it on the kids' feet at bedtime. Sometimes we use a blend called "To Be At Peace", that contains Lavender, Chamomile, and some other calming oils. My 4 year old is convinced it gives her good dreams. Once when I was making baked potatoes, and drizzling coconut oil on them, she asked if that oil was to give them good dreams in the oven! My six year old calls in "To Be At Sleep", lol. We also use Lavender for insect bites and burns as well.
I use Peppermint when I have headaches. (Never use peppermint on children under 3.)
We use the Tea Tree for many skin issues. My teenager uses it on pimples, and makes a face cream with it and other ingredients. I have found it is great for diaper rash, too!
We have just began our essential oil journey, and I will be posting on the main blog occasionally about them when I learn something great.
